I found out, as many Veterans do, that there was not as much opportunity as I thought once leaving the services. I spent 9 months as a security guard working 3rd shift while my wife worked 1st shift and we juggled our 2-year-old. This was a struggle both mentally and financially. While I was working security, I was approached by a network engineer. He started discussing opportunities within the IT field and encouraged me to use my down time to study. From then on, I spent all my free time studying hard in order to receive my first IT certification. That was two year ago. Since then, I have earned many more IT certifications and would like to help my fellow Veterans do the same.
